Heartland Presbytery will again this year be a drop off collection site for the 2010 Festival of Sharing. We will be collecting School Kits and Emergency Clean-up Buckets to be delivered to the Office of Creative Ministries at the Festival of Sharing in Sedalia, MO. These items will be distributed nationally and internationally as needed. This year a portion of the school kits will be sent to Haiti where the need is still great.

Please see the lists below and note the cost of shipping per kit or per bucket. Please do not include any money or check in the kit or bucket. Place cash in an envelope marked Festival of Sharing Kit/Bucket Shipping or make checks payable to Heartland Presbytery marked Festival of Sharing Shipping in the memo line.

Please place School Kits in a sturdy box labeled with “CWS School kit” and number of kits on all sides of the box.

SCHOOL KIT

These kits give children in impoverished schools and refugee camps some basic tools for learning.

EMERGENCY CLEAN-UP BUCKET

These kits enable people to begin the overwhelming job of cleaning up after a disaster here in the United States.

1 five-gallon bucket with re-sealable lid
1 dry laundry detergent, 50-78 oz.
1 roll heavy-duty trash bags, 24 to 28 count (30-45 gallon) ( remove from box)
1 bottle liquid concentrated house-hold cleaner (like Lysol®), 12 oz.
1 bottle liquid antibacterial dish soap, (like Dawn®), 25 oz.
Clothesline, two 50 ft. or one 100 ft.
50 clothes pins
1 scrub brush (remove packaging)
1 pair work gloves
2 pairs latex gloves (like Playtex®)
7 sponges, assorted sizes
5 scouring pads

Please purchase all liquids in plastic bottles. Send only new, unopened materials. Make sure lids on bottles are tightly closed. Put all items in the plastic bucket, making sure they are packed securely to avoid damage during shipment. Seal lid with packing tape.
