‘Earthkeepers’ is Heartland Presbytery’s environmental justice task force which represents Presbyterians for Earth Care (PEC) in Heartland Presbytery. . PEC is a national, grass-roots eco-justice network which is a partner organization of Environmental Ministries, PC( USA). Earthkeepers is a small but active team which is passionate about caring for creation. We are a sub-committee of Social Justice Ministries Division, and all our members are volunteers (not going through the Nominating Committee). Our mission reflects that of Presbyterians for Earth Care and includes:
- Connecting with God and others through biblical and theological reflection, study, and experiencing God in Creation;
- Equipping members with news and effective tools and resources;
- Inspiring members through conferences/workshops on timely eco-justice issues and Creation-honoring worship.
